Hi,
The previous night it had rained heavily ( first of the monsoon season ). But till morning the rains almost subdued . Next day on way to my place of work, an unknown person gave me a sign asking for a lift. I stopped by and asked him to sit behind me. As we were passing, he broke the silence saying it was a good downpour last night. I said, yes indeed it was good as I was awake at that time. Soon thoughts started ushering in my mind, like the Hindus will thank Lord Indra, Muslims will thank Allah, Christians will thank God for the good rainfall of the previous night. I thought I am neither of these, so to whom should I give my thanks. Being atheist, without a second thought, my thanks went to the ever caring and loving Mother Nature.
Hi Saif,
This is Irfan Syed, originally from Bangalore.
Welcome to the sense of freedom that only an apostate can describe. From one “free man” to another – Keep up the good work, man.
I need some ideas.
As apostates, what can we do to spread the word among liberal-minded, “nominal” Muslims who live in India’s cities?
What do you feel is the best way to publicise the writings of good websites like: http://www.FaithFreedom.ORG among potential apostates?
Can we translate FFI’s key articles into Urdu and put it up on a website?
Let me know…
Irfan Syed
Hi Syed,
There are no muslims like “nominal”. When time comes the same nominal muslim is more dangerous than a wild beast.
The perperators of 9/11 were all educated muslims. Mohd Atta was a pilot.
You might be knowing that the penalty of apostary in Islam is execution. So we must be very carefull to whom we are speaking to. I suggest you to read all the articles of Dr Ali Sina.
Dr Ali Sina has written a book on mohammad. Some at faithfreedom is already putting his efforts to translate the book in urdu. Regarding the articles, I am doing some thing here in Indore. One of my cousin sister has done MA in Urdu.
I will ask her if she can translate the articles.
take care
Saif
Guys,
I am an Indian and I so happy to see that you guys have started the process of de-Islamifying India. It has done incalculable damage already to the country. I just don’t get it when fellow Indian Muslims blow themselves to kill fellow Indians.
You guys have to take the torch of enlightenment forward. I suggest you guys form a network of apostates of Islam in India and carry on your work secrectly.
Your well wisher.
@Saif,
By “nominal Muslim”, I meant “Muslim only by name, not by faith”. Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I agree that any Muslim is a potential jihadi, when the time comes.
Be careful about revealing your apostasy to your cousin sister… You never know how your family would reach. You need to be careful too.
By the way, I’ll search to see if there is any automatic translation software (English to Urdu) available in the market, so we can get the translations done faster and safer. Please search in your city’s bookshops too if any CD is available.
A free software/translation website may be available on the internet… let me google it up.

@ Indian,
Forming a physical network of apostates is dangerous. It is possible only online – with the anonymonity that the internet offers. I am not willing to trust anyone in my locality or city who would claim to be a murtad. You never know which one of them is a zealot in a murtad’s clothing.
I don’t want to be a “martyr” for the apostates. I would rather want to stay alive and live long, so I can get things accomplished in life.

Hey guys,
Thanks for this wonderful blog. I am very happy to come across it. I always think that Why do anyone has to sacrifice their life for religion? In case of Islam many innocents have lost their lives and to me it is very sensible issue. Atleast to stop this kind of death, we must spread the words of Ali Sina.
Keep up good work. May nature helps you in your work of saving many lives.
@Irfan
I meant “online network” only. Sorry for the confusion. Of course I know how dangerous it is to reveal about it. I don’t want anyone of you to be martyr. You are of use to India, only when you are alive.
Good luck.
I have yet to go through material on your site but the comments from other apostates tempted me to write a post here.
When an apostate is in need of religion, apostacy itself can be considered as a good religion. Nobody needs religion, religion is more or less an absurd term/word, only thoughts matter.
Not many will understand it, but since i come from a poor family, i know what it feels to see both extremes of a journey (though i am by no means rich but live comfortably).
Those who become apostates know what the real mental freedom means. Similarly a shudra from hinduism who has great thoughts, knows what achievement is and what equality is.
In a hurry, some thoughts may not be exactly what i wanted to write…..
Deoband’s influential Islamic seminary issues fatwa against coeducation in India
8 July 2007
LUCKNOW, India – One of South Asia’s most influential Sunni Muslim seminaries has issued a religious edict against coeducation in schools and colleges, claiming it is against Islamic law, an official said Sunday.
Coeducation is against Islam and therefore Muslims should refrain from sending their children, particularly girls, to coeducational schools,’ Mohammed Asumin Qazmi, an office bearer of the Dar-ul-Uloom Sunni seminary in northern India, told The Associated Press.
The religious edict, or fatwa, however, said that boys and girls can study together until they are 10-years-old.
Islam forbids women to meet men, who are not their father or close relatives. Therefore, how can one expect that Islam allows for coeducation,’ he added.
The fatwa was issued last week following an e-mail from a follower asking whether Islam allows a female to attend coeducational institutions after reaching puberty.
The seminary routinely receives e-mail queries, especially those pertaining to the Islamic way of life. It did not disclose the name of the sender of the e-mail.
While the fatwa is only a religious guideline that cannot be legally enforced, it’s likely to pressure some conservative Muslim parents into removing their daughters from coeducational schools.
Dar-ul-Uloom is in the town of Deoband, about 130 kilometers (80 miles) north of the capital, New Delhi, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
.. coeducation is undoubtedly unlawful,’ the fatwa said.
Men and women study together in most public schools and universities in India.
Several Muslim scholars and teachers contested the fatwa.
Islam has set certain parameters and coeducation within those parameters is not un-Islamic,’ said S.Q.R. Ilyasi, spokesman of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
There is a proper dress code (in Islam) and women studying in coeducational institutions should stick to that dress code,’ said Shayista Ambar, the head of the All India Women Muslim Personal Law Board.
India’s most populous state Uttar Pradesh is home to 180 million people, including three million Muslims. It is also one of the poorest and most backward states in India, with an overall literacy rate of 56 percent, with literacy for women of only around 42 percent.

Beautiful comment about the rain.
Congratulations on your freedom! All the best, and take care!
Dear Saif,
I will have some time this weekend to start translating FFI articles (by Dr. Ali Sina) into Urdu.
I personally have many favorite FFI articles, so I am not sure which one to pick first. I need your opinion.
Please do let me know which FFI article you feel is the most effective so I can translate one article first. Do send me the relevant webpage URL.
Thanks,
Irfan

@Saif,
It was a wonderful article about rain.Keep it up.
What exactly is humanism, which even Mr.Salman Rushdie claims he belongs to ??
One of the main reason, that there is so much strife in this world, on account of religious indifference.
Is Apostasy solution to all the problems ???
Hello,
It is nice to see you people are wake up against the barbaric tradition.
